Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan offers 2 Legacy Medigap plans, each offering different levels of benefits:
Plan A $39.88 monthly per person - Covering basic benefits (hospitalization, medical expenses, blood, hospice)
Plan C $121.22 monthly per person - Covers basic benefits, skilled nursing,
Part A & B deductibles and foreign travel emergency
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will not reject your application based on your age or health status. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will reject your application if your past/present employer pays/reimburses your premium with a HRA.
Medgap plan F as low as $128, may be a better option based on coverage and renewal rates.
Medicare Part C advantage plan as low as $0 HMO or $78 PPO, may be a better option based on premium.
If choosing a medigap plan, you also need to purchase a Medicare part D drug plan to avoid the late enrollment penalty. (Open Enrollment Period Oct. 15 - Dec. 7)
